“Cher makes our day-to-day work much easier by tracking subcontractor payments and preparing our year-end 1099 forms. As a construction business with many subcontractors, having the right person to organize and maintain these records is essential. Without her help, gathering all the necessary information would be overwhelming.”

Frequently asked questions

Who needs a Form 1099-NEC?

Generally, each non-employee, such as an independent contractor, you paid for services in your business: $600 or more for payments made in 2025, and $2,000 or more for payments made from January 1, 2026.

When is Form 1099-NEC due?

January 31, both to the IRS and to your contractors. When that falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day.

What about Form 1099-MISC?

1099-MISC covers payments that are not for services, such as rent. Recipients get their copies by January 31 (February 15 for some boxes), and the IRS deadline is March 31 when filed electronically.

What do you need from me?

A list of the contractors you paid. We collect W-9s from them and track payments during the year, so your forms are ready before the deadline.

Do you e-file with the IRS?

Yes. We e-file your forms with the IRS and send copies to your contractors. Running payroll for employees too? See payroll services.
